IPfan-kit is a database of consumer data that captures the market conditions of IP* in the entertainment industry, with a focus on manga, anime and games.
From survey data obtained from a sample of 300,000 people, you can gain a cross-sectional understanding of the penetration of IPs, the characteristics of fans and users, and the behavior and attitudes of consumers in the IP market, and use this understanding to plan marketing strategies based on data from the consumer’s perspective, such as target strategies for your company’s IP and selection of collaboration partners.
*IP: an abbreviation for “Intellectual Property” that is commonly used in the entertainment industry as a general term for specific manga, anime, games, characters, toys, etc.
Characteristics of IPfan-kit
Large database of 300,000 people nationwide
Surveys on a scale of 300,000 people are regularly conducted, targeting men and women aged 15 to 59 across the country. The large sample size makes it possible to capture the status not only of popular IPs but also of lesser-known IPs with low occurrence rates.
Moreover, since surveys are conducted on a continuous basis, changes over time in market penetration can be tracked, and the relative positioning of different works can be ascertained through comparison of major IPs.
Characteristics of the target audience can be captured in detail
Through survey questions on awareness, liking, and exposure to over 150 manga, anime and game titles, you can gain a detailed understanding of the characteristics of fans and users of each IP. Questions about game play and values are also asked, allowing for in-depth analysis of the attitudes of fans and users.
Unique gamer segmentation based on user attitudes
With IPfan-kit, unique gamer segments based on “game enthusiasm” and “communication level” (i.e., multiplayer usage rate) are created, allowing you to track changes in attitudes that are in line with contemporary conditions, when user needs are diversifying and multi-play has taken on a new role in games.

Single-source data can be used to check the effectiveness of IP collaborations
The effectiveness of collaborations between IP and products such as food, snacks, and beverages can be verified by combining IPfan-kit data with SCI® (Nationwide Consumer Panel) purchase log data owned by INTAGE to answer questions such as “Did sales increase?” and “Did fans buy the products?” using single-source data.
